You Are On This Path.: But Where Are You Going?
The veil is lifted and the reader is given a well thought out and documented understanding of what lies beyond human death. Approached from many different angles including tradition, Scripture, mystical encounters, wisdom of saints and popes, and personal experiences, we find a wealth of treasurers that will inspire us to follow the Way, the Truth, and the Life of what has been revealed. Words all fall short of the reality of the eternal life, but a deeper sense of hope awaits us all who endeavor to read and meditate on this gift of teaching. (Retired Catholic lay Religious Educator)
In these pages we will look, in a general way, at death and what follows. There are some things which we are certain of – we will die, we will be judged, we will go to Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory (a temporary place or condition where our soul is cleansed). There are some things which we have no answer for – when, where, and how we will die. We have no control over these things. But, there are things which we do have control over, and these are the most important things of all.
We have free will. We decide where we will go after we die.
This booklet, hopefully, will help us understand the mystery of death better and prepare us for its certain arrival when, where, and how God wills it. We hope this booklet will encourage and help people to:
1. Understand the process of dying
2. Understand death better
3. Pray for the dead
4. Become more aware of the Mercy and Patience of God
5. The wonderful and mysterious care our Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Our Lady, the angels and saints give us in order for us to share Heaven with them.
These thoughts are based on the Bible, the teachings of the Catholic Church, writings of saints, theologians, mystics, who have shared Private Revelations with us, and experiences which some have gone through with people who were dying.
Review by a friend: What is Purgatory? What is its purpose? Is it mentioned in the Bible? What proof do we have of its existence? In an easy to understand question and answer format, Father Noone answers these questions and many more, with references to the Old and New Testament, as well as testimony from Saints and mystics, to help all visualize this place called Purgatory and why it is necessary for our entrance into Heaven. His defense (apologia) in making his case is logically laid out in answering questions usually asked.
Fr. Noone also explains how the creation of Purgatory shows the immense Mercy and love that the Father has for His children, as well as how our placement there accomplishes the Justice due to God for our temporal sins. He also reminds us that relationships of family and friends made on earth are continued in heaven and the need to continue these relationships through intercessory prayer. This book is an excellent tool for Catechists, and will help deepen understanding of our journey after death, in both Catholics and those moving toward the Faith. Concise but profound!
Review by a friend: Very interesting reading, great apologia for the argument of Purgatory! I love the section on the Blessed Mother, the guardian angels, and how we keep our relationships going with our family and friends after they have died. Also, the whole section of forgiveness I've taken to heart, have thought about, and I've already started acting on it. I think this will be a great book!
