About the Author

William Aryana lives with his family in Sacramento, California. When he was nine years old, his world was turned upside down when he learned of his beloved grandmother's colon cancer diagnosis. During this rocky journey, his family's deep affection and support helped William cope with his grandmother's illness and passing, as he came to find out that his father was also at risk of developing the same dreadful disease. Even though this was a scary time for William, he promised not to despair or lose hope. But instead, he made the decision to get involved by sharing his story, to reach out to adults and children just like him, to raise awareness and promote education and advocacy on prevention and screening for colon cancer.
