Overview

You Can Perform Like a Pro is a How-To book for anyone who will find themselves on a stage, of any kind, and in front of an audience. This book is designed to walk you through your stage performance preparation process starting from the day you book your show, right up to the moment you come face to face with your audience. Stage fright is real and can be paralyzing. This book will show you how to not only face that fear but use it to pull the best possible performance out of yourself using, what I like to call, "The P2 Method." This method is easy to use and practical to apply. It is guaranteed to take your performance material, whether it be speech or musical, and transform it from amateur to amazing. Even if you do not struggle with performance anxiety, this book will show you how to harness, and use, your own creativity to develop a unique showcase of your talents, taking your stage performance skills to the highest level. A professional quality performance is possible for you, whether you believe it or not. You do not have to be afraid or insecure. After reading this book, you will know that this is true.

About the Author

Marissa Ford has been performing music in front of audiences since the age of nine. She began her musical journey in middle school on stage in front of her peers and has been performing on stages ever since. All the while, struggling with overwhelming stage fright. This fear, paired with a passion to be on stage, presented a love-hate relationship with her musical endeavors. Loving to perform, but fearing her audience was a paradox that simply could not exist without extreme anxiety. Because of this, Marissa developed a method of performance preparation that would help her put on a professional quality performance and combat her irrational fear of performing in front of people. Throughout the years, she has been hired to sing and perform at birthday parties, as hotel entertainment, and even on a school tour. She has faced all types of audiences and has wowed them just the same. She truly believes that the ability to impress an audience is not limited to only a select few. Anyone can perform like a star if they have the right tools and she has thoroughly listed and explained them for your use in this book.
