About the Author

Barbara Barnouin is a research fellow at the Asia Center, Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva. The late Yu Changgen worked with Zhou Enlai in China's Foreign Ministry in the '60s and '70s. Barnouin and Yu are the coauthors of Ten Years of Turbulence: The Chinese Cultural Revolution and Chinese Foreign Policy Durgaing the Cultural Revolution.
