Widely credited with developing the romantic mystery genre, Mary Stewart (1916-2014) was an admired British author who also wrote children’s books and poetry. Perhaps best known for the Merlin Trilogy, which includes The Crystal Cave, she reimagined the Arthurian legend from the sorcerer’s point of view. One of her books, The Moon Spinners was made into a Disney movie.
