Michael Dibdin (1947-2007) was a British mystery and crime author best known for his Aurelio Zen series. Set in Italy, the series follows complicated detective Aurelio Zen. The first book in the series Ratking was published in 1988 and won the Gold Dagger award the same year. The series was posthumously adapted for television by the BBC.
