English version: Angelika Regossi is a former BBC Eastern Europe correspondent who reported from the heart of the collapsing Communist world during the fall of the Iron Curtain and the transition from communism to capitalism. She worked for BBC Radio and later freelanced for Radio France International (RFI) and Deutsche Welle, and served as a television producer for Belgium's VRT, Der Spiegel (Germany), NOS (Netherlands), and Voice of America (USA), publishing at the time under the names Agnes R. Bos and Агнеш Бос. Alongside her journalistic work, Regossi learned several foreign languages independently, including English, Hungarian, and Dutch. Although she studied English at university during the Communist period, the education was weak, and after moving to the West she had to re-learn the language through self-study. This experience became the foundation of her comparative bilingual method. She is the creator of the My Thousand Words series, a practical approach to language learning for Russian speakers and foreign-language speakers learning Russian. Titles from the series are held by major European libraries, including the Berlin State Library. She is also the author of the historical novel Love in Communism and Russian Colonial Food, a collection of historical stories with authentic recipes.
