About the Author

Born in Montreal where she still lives, Elaine is a tenth—generation Arsenault from Québec of Acadian origins. She is the author of the chapter book series entitled L’or des gitans and of the picture book series Passepoil, which was short—listed and awarded numerous prizes both in Canada and in France. F is for French: A Québec Alphabet is her first nonfiction book and her first work that she’s written in both French and English.

Renné Benoit is the illustrator of numerous award winning picture books, including Proud as a Peacock and Brave as a Lion, winner of the Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Award. Renné lives in Southern Ontario.
