D. J. Mitchell grew up in New Hampshire and moved to Los Angeles when he was 19. He has studied Theology at Loyola Marymount University, worked with community development organizations in India and Thailand, and helped build schools in Tijuana, Mexico. He worked for 17 years with a local NGO to end the civil war in Sri Lanka. D.J. currently lives in southern Utah, where he writes full-time..
