''Do You Have a Sleepy Grandma?''
The reason for writing this piece for publication was that I have a Sleepy Grandma. I am also dedicating my book to my Sleepy Grandma Erma Lee Jackson. I felt this would be a fun title for children. This is due, to they may experience the same and can relate to the content. My Grandma went through a sleepy phrase, as she got older and I felt it was a little humorous. Grandma’s do get a little tired. We would start a conversation. I’d look up and she’d be sitting in a chair with her eyes closed and relaxed talking to me. Next thing I knew, she was sleeping in her chair. She was my inspiration!! Thank you Sleepy Grandma.

About the Author

Born Cheryl Lynn Wilson on January 1, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas. I grew up as an Air Force brat. My father was stationed at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas. My mothe’s career was a nurse, who is currently working for VA Hospital. Family and friends were very treasured in our lives. My Great Grandmother was a teacher and historian in Columbus, Texas. She was a great story teller due to she lost her eyesight at age 45. She would always tell us stories before, we went to bed. That was a foundation for my reading skills. I will always love her for that. We grew up with her story telling of old classics like Henny Penny. I also grew up with Dr. Suess books, my mother would order for me. Currently, I am a teacher in San Antonio, Texas. I’m a member of Who’s Who Among American Women. I enjoy hearing my students read daily, it is like music to my ears. I have three children Charmaine, Courtney, and Kia. My daughters are enforcing daily reading skills to their children and writing skills for future advancement at school. My first book “My Firefly Friend” was released in 2003, with Dorrance Publishing Company.
