Great cozy mystery! I liked that the characters were "older" - you don't find very often The story was interesting & quick moving. And there was a dog in it- this book hit all the must haves for me. I will be reading more by J L Wilson. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Title: Dogged - Remembered Classics Romance Author: J L Wilson Published: 10-21-2016 Publisher: Wild Rose Press Pages: 242 Genre: Mystery, Thrillers & Suspense Sub Genre: Amateur Sleuths, Cozy Mystery, Romance ISBN: 9781509210558 ASIN: B01L5WO750 Reviewer: DelAnne Reviewed For: NetGalley Rating: 4.25 I received a copy of Dogged from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review. Description: From the Publisher Former fashion model, and now tenured professor at a small college, Annabelle C. Doyle ("Acie") is part of a group trying to establish a wildlife sanctuary on a donated parcel of land. When the donor dies under unusual circumstances, the land endowment is put in jeopardy. Unwillingly, Acie and fellow professor Ike Adler are pulled into the investigation. But when the donor’s heir is found dead—after arguing with Acie and Ike—they're suddenly in the spotlight and under suspicion. Amidst the investigation, Acie is coerced into coming out of retirement to work on a fashion shoot on campus—a shoot that turns into a real "shoot," with Ike in the crosshairs. Acie may lose not only a chance for the love of her lifetime—she may lose her life. My Review: There was little to appeal to me about this book until I read the description which is why I placed it above. The Classic Romance part made me imagine an old sixties romance which was fine when I was thirteen, but not today. The Cover made me think of the old Earl Stanley Garner covers on his Perry Mason novels. Again adequate at twelve, but not any more. Then I read the blurb above and it piqued my interest and I took a chance. I am glad I did. There is a romantic element, but the core of the story is the mystery. Mature characters that are well established in life and their emotions lead the cast. Their are younger characters as well and a few moments of comic relief. On the whole I found the book flows smoothly and quickly. The plot was well done and thought out. I would definitely read another book with these characters.
