I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The Guardians is an interesting story. It picks up pretty much where the first book left off. Ava and Caleb are together and going about their daily lives. Caleb continues to do double duty, working for the Guardians and for the Colony. But, something happens to Caleb and he decides to run away. Ava is confused and doesn't understand why Caleb doesn't talk to her about what is going on. Ava teams up with an unlikely ally, Tiernan to help track down Caleb before the Council catches him and punishes him. However, what she finds in her search for him could change her entire life and her destiny. I really like this series. The story is really good, it's vivid, it's imaginative and the characters are likable. I am really excited to read the next book in the series so I can see what happens to Ava and Caleb. I was really surprised by some of the things that happened in the book. I did not see them coming. I like that in a story. T.M. Franklin is a really great story teller. I'm not sure where she comes up with these ideas, but it takes someone with a really big imagination to create a world like this. I recommend this series.

Twists, secrets and powers' explosions ... This volume keeps the reader in suspense! I devoured this story as I was hooked by Caleb and Ava's adventures. Ava accepted her powers and train herself to get stronger. With Caleb's help, she tries to unlock her full potential but something is wrong.  At the same time, her relationship with Caleb intensifies... until the young man becomes strange and is accused of treason. Ava decides to go looking for him. Along the way, she crosses paths with Emma who ability is to tamper with people's brain. Ava also encounters many other characters with amazing powers. There are car chases to find Caleb, Rogues's attacks to overcome, betrayals and demonstrations of impressive powers.  In the same time, some revelations about Ava, her origin and her extraordinary abilities are suggesting that the three volume will continue to thrill the reader... Entertaining, fast paced and original, this paranormal series is a mix of X-Men and Heroes with a female character who will not allow to be walk over by anybody! Very nice paranormal romance! Lucie

It Just Keeps Getting Better Wow, if you think middle series books are typically mediocre, you are in for one crazy surprise with T.M. Franklin's The Guardians (More, #2)! Okay, so seriously, T.M. Franklin is a master at world building! She has taken the super human race concept to a new level and adds in a great mix of mystery and intrigue, action and romance that will completely capture readers and have them hanging on the edge of their seat until the very last page! This book seriously has it all! The settings are familiar and yet unique and create a whole level of wonderment that will leave you breathless. Let me just say, that I absolutely adore Ava and her boyfriend Caleb. More really solidified the couple in my mind and while The Guardians continues their story, I would definitely not have complained if there had been a little more relationship building between the two of them. Also, as far as supporting characters go, Most Improved is hands down awarded to Tiernan and Katherine. I will be honest when I say that in the first book I really disliked Tiernan and Katherine, however their story develops quite nicely and I have grown quite fond of the pair, especially Tiernan. :) If you have not read More (More #1) yet, stop what you're doing and go pick up a copy and if you have had the privilege of reading the first do yourself a favor and add The Guardians (More, #2) to your collection! You will NOT be disappointed! I didn't think it was possible, but this one improves upon the first!

Find this review and more at Lusty Penguin Reviews! TM Franklin hits another one out of the park! The Guardians, the second book in the More series, is a downright captivating young adult paranormal suspense novel. Picking up a few months after the first book ends, Franklin masterfully continues to build her unique alternate world of Race, Half-Breeds, and Rogues. As this story begins, Ava is back at college, transitioning into life with the humans while the Council watches to make sure she stays quiet about the Race. Ava and Caleb’s feelings have deepened as Caleb continues to train Ava to use and hone her abilities. Ava’s world turns on its head when Caleb is accused of betraying the Council by joining the Rogues. Caleb runs, and Tiernan Ross, a Protector, is brought in to bring Caleb before the Council. Ava doesn’t believe that Caleb has switched sides and convinces Tiernan to let her come along while he tracks down Caleb. Ava is still a determined, stubborn, and brave character who won’t take no for an answer. I loved that Ava remains true to the character that I absolutely fell in love with in the first book. As Ava and Tiernan search for Caleb, they put their differences aside and surprisingly start building a friendship. I wasn’t a huge fan of Tiernan in the first story, but this time, his character grew on me as he becomes friends with Ava. Franklin consummately balances building new relationships and introducing new characters along with further developing her multilayer plot arcs into a stunning page-turning read. Once again, I was so fully drawn into Franklin’s original world of Race and Rouges that I read this book in one sitting. Franklin nicely ties up the major plot points of the second book, answers some lingering questions from the first book, and leaves just enough unanswered questions about the Rouges to leave readers anxious for the conclusion of the More series. Memorable characters, pulse-pounding action, and an intricate plot make The Guardians a perfect read for adults and teens alike. If the first two books are any indication, then the third book in the More series should be epic. I, for one, cannot wait to see how this series will end. I received an eBook copy of the book from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.
