The Metamorphosis of Timothy Dunn

Asteroid Phobus-2 barrels toward Earth, only moments from impact. It's up to super-genius 19-year-old Timothy Dunn to destroy the asteroid, using weaponry that had successfully destroyed asteroid M-1, just two years ago in 2026. When his weaponry fails, and the asteroid and massive fragments continue on course, time travel becomes an immediate option. His last attempt fails; he disappears to another timeline, yet Earth is completely annihilated. Or is it?

Timothy Dunn loses oxygen at birth, leading to mild mental retardation. When the first of a series of asteroids reach Earth, causing a car accident that kills his mother, an unusual energy field passes through Timothy. He gradually loses his disability, and gains intelligence at an exponential rate. By the time Phobus-2 approaches, he has gained world fame as a leading scientist. He has developed a way to destroy inbound asteroids, and the world looks to him for their salvation. But, as we have seen, he fails in his attempt. Or does he? Time travel includes some unusual and surprising turns and twists that leave readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
