An 11 year old orphaned boy has witnessed the murder of the woman looking after him. When investigators discover the boy is a protege artist who sells his paintings for thousands, they push him to paint the face of the killer. But the boy refuses, insisting that first they take him to his other family, a family which the authorities reluctant;y conclude must be from his reincarnated past.

To gain his cooperation the court appoints a nun and an ex Chicago detective to take him to his fantasy home which turns out to be in another country. But their travel is not safe as the killer follows them to eliminate the only witness to the crime.As the sole witness the boy keeps his surprise, almost to the end.
