Tyler's Train: A Mother's Journey to Improve the Lives of Autistic Children
As part of my journey to help improve the lives of autistic children, I came up with the idea of writing this book. In this book I talk about what it is like to have an autistic child, what this means for Tyler, and what this means for me as his mother. Most importantly I have included the most valuable pieces of advice that I can offer to anyone caring for an autistic individual. I have read books on parenting an autistic child and have gained very helpful insight on a few issues, but I have noticed however that the autism spectrum is so vast and diversified that most of the information does not apply to my son. I also know that any time I can find the smallest little piece of advice that helps me better understand Tyler and helps me better grow Tyler into a more functional person, I am very extremely grateful. So I am getting my story out there in case there is something somewhere in this book that can help another struggling, confused caregiver. While some of my tips and advice have come from medical professionals, it is not intended to be seen as scientifically based medical or professional advice. I cannot guarantee the success of any of my advice because every individual on the autism spectrum is unique. I do however hope that this book is helpful to you and does help you better understand your child. I have come to conclusions based on my own personal story that have helped me come to some very important insights and beliefs about autism and my son that have helped me be a better mother and come to terms with having an autistic child in my life and heart.
As part of my journey to help improve the lives of autistic children, I will be donating 50% of what I make on my book sales and in my Etsy.com store (www.etsy.com/shop/tylerstrain) towards either the Arkansas Autism Resource and Outreach Center (www.aaroc.org) or Autism Speaks (www.autismspeaks.org).
Thank you for taking the time to view my book,
