Otessa Ghadar is an indie author and new media filmmaker living in Washington, D.C. She is a YA and new media junkie and enjoys combining her passion for storytelling with today's technology. Her fiction often explores themes of nostalgia, childhood, and city life. Through her work, she seeks to provide honest and diverse portrayals of American life while being thought-provoking and sincere. For Otessa, nothing is taboo, nothing too personal to share.

As an ITV innovator and lauded filmmaker, Otessa's also a veteran of the new media industry. She is author of a new media textbook entitled, "The Wild West of Cinema." It is the first comprehensive educational guide to provide 21st century students with the tools and knowledge to successfully pursue a career in web series and new media productions. It is expected to be available online and in print in August 2013. Otessa is also spearheading an interactive new media "Tapestry" project in which she's compiling a short documentary of interviews with influential names and viewer submitted vlogs on under-represented stories to create safe spaces for youth online.

Otessa is also the creative force behind the young adult script book and web series, “Orange Juice in Bishops Garden.” The series follows the lives of D.C. teens growing up and getting down in the 1990's grunge era and features a lesbian story line. The show is now one of the oldest and longest running teen web series online.
