About the Author

Clare Ford works as the Early Years' Manager and Arts Co-ordinator in a special needs school in Surrey. She works with nursery teachers, speech therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists to ensure that children with additional needs make as much progress as possible. She also serves on the panels that allocate school places to SEN children in Surrey, which allows her to visit a great many nurseries and pre-schools and to examine children's skills and development in a variety of settings.
