11 days after Gamal Abdel Nasser died
"When you see the people of the Arab world calm... calm... silent, this only means that they have agreed on one thing: a short truce, after which they will continue fighting! This saying was echoed many times over the mountains of Jordan, but it suddenly disappeared in just eleven days. A historical epic. It was brought back to life - and breathed into it once again - by the pen of the struggling doctor, Yousry Hashem, in a very realistic and dramatic story that relies - confidently - on real events that are stranger than fiction, supported by facts from its original fabric, in the voice of its author and the only witness who remains with us alive. To tell us - with absolute frankness - his testimony to history about the most difficult days of the Arabs, and what preceded them, and he paved the way for them with an analysis and vision that was not devoid of social acumen for the people, and political awareness of the momentous events that took place around him. The events were taking place in the south of Amman, for Egyptian doctors, whose lives changed one hundred and eighty degrees A few days after they arrived in the Jordanian capital, after their return from hell in southern Jordan, to work in Ashrafieh Hospital, which was violently bombed during the events of Black September 1970, losing many of its vital facilities, and they all faced an unknown fate, in an unprecedented challenge, and a struggle against the clock's clockwork. She never goes back, and does not stop - even for a moment - to take a breath. There was life and death, love and hate, selfishness and devotion... all the contradictions and whims of man in one place. Only here, in this small spot in the world, will you see the Egyptian surgeon Yusri Hashem, his colleague and companion in the struggle, the great fighter Raouf Nazmi (known as "Mahjoub Omar"), the Iraqi nurse, the Palestinian volunteer, and the Jordanian physician's assistant - cooperating to relieve the pain of an injured person. A Syrian, or burying the body of a Lebanese martyr... These memoirs accurately depict the features of real personalities, delve into their depths, and tell the history of their struggle, which was not the result of the moment at any time, but emerged successively, since the formation of their national awareness of the issue of Arabism, through a smooth narration and an interesting style, to make these lines memorable A big time Sparkling white, it embodies an unprecedented sacrifice of icons of real struggle and legendary heroes, whom we miss these days, amid bloody events, which were - and still are - a huge wound that has not healed in the body of the entire Arab world.
