CHAPTER 1

The Bibleteam and their friends are enjoying a day at the park! But the Mayor of Maybe has decided to join the fun. Do you think he's up to something sneaky?

"Step right up and have a ball! Wish-a-Prayer is here for all! Make a wish and pay my fee. Then God will grant your wish ... maybe!" the Mayor said.

"Wait a minute," said Melody. "Did he just say prayer is making a wish and expecting God to make it happen? That's not what prayer is at all!"

The Mayor continued, "You, young sir, wish a prayer! Slushie rain? It's in the air! And you, dear girl, want wings to fly? Pray it now. Just give a try!"

"No flying wings, young Holly? Well, pray again. Be jolly! Or just give up, you know, and — uh-oh!" The Mayor paused.

"Here comes Bibleman. And the Biblegirl too!" Gulp.

"Prayer is not making wishes to God," said Biblegirl. "It's something special. Something powerful."

While Biblegirl destroyed the prayer machine, the rest of the Bibleteam taught the kids about prayer.

"God is your Father," Bibleman said, "and He loves you. Prayer is when we talk to God like family. It's when we get to tell God we love Him too and share with Him about our lives."

"So why doesn't God giver prayer-wishes?" Jimmy asked.

Bibleman answered, "Because He always wants what's best for you. He gives what you need instead of just what you want."

"I don't know what to say to God when I pray. Can I tell God anything?" a little girl asked.
