David Hicks has been an educational writer for forty years with a long-standing interest in helping readers make sense of 'big' and tricky issues such as climate change. In particular, his writing and teaching have focused on ways of helping young people and adults think more critically and creatively about their own futures and those of their community. In exploring the need to create more safe and sustainable futures the author is recognised for both the clarity of his writing and the engagement of both head and heart. He was formerly Professor in the School of Education, Bath Spa University.
