About the Author

Percy ByssheShelley (1792-1822)is one of the great Romantic poets. His pamphlet "The Necessity of Atheism," caused his expulsion from Oxford, but he continued to write shocking works. He is best known for his poems and his dramatic play, “Prometheus Unbound.” He died shortly before his thirtieth birthday, having drowned in a storm while sailing off the coast of Italy.
