About the Author

Helen Lacey grew up reading Black Beauty, Anne of Green Gables and Little House on The Prairie. These childhood classics inspired her to write her first book when she was seven years old, a story about a girl and her horse. She continued to write with the dream of one day being a published author and writing for Harlequin Special Edition is the realization of that dream. She loves creating stories about cowboys and horses and heroine's who get their happily ever after.

4 1/2 STARS! Sparks fly and tension mounts as temptation arrives on her doorstep! A great continuation to the Fortunes of Texas series. If you've read any of these books previously, you know the premise ... and more illegitimate siblings are coming out of the woodwork every time we turn around. The characters were enticing and kept us entertained as their story played out. The plot was fun and fast moving. The only downside of this delightful book for me was the haste in which they reached their happily ever after ... overall, a real pleasure to read! Frenchman Amersen Beaudin has no interest in meeting his newly found Fortune family, but when Kate Fortune contacts him for a seemingly unrelated business venture, he is intrigued enough to make the trip to Austin, Texas to see what she has in mind. He's planning a quick in and out visit so he doesn't run into any of his half siblings who have been reaching out to him, but the second he sets eyes on the vision in white outside Kate's home, he might be rethinking the rush! Gardener Robin Harbin might be attracted at first glance to the handsome visitor, but the last thing she needs is another womanizing man! She can tell he's interested by his heated perusal, but there's no way she will allow herself to be interested in this playboy! She finds he's persistent though, and after a few times spent getting to know the man beneath the exterior, she finds she likes him way more than she should ... can she convince him that love isn't as bad as he seems to think it is?
