Tomorrow is the first day of spring… and the day of the Annual Gifting Ceremony. Prince Hakan, his brother Fannar, and their two friends – Shammoth and Joule – anxiously await their turn to pass through the mysterious waterfall that once a year bestows extraordinary abilities to the sixteen-year-olds of their kingdom, but things go terribly wrong when one of them is gifted a power with a dark legacy.
As seemingly everyone in Ladothite turns on the unfortunate recipient, the true gifts of the four teenagers, along with the rest of their friends, will be tested; the gifts of their good hearts.
