Overview

A Harmless Little Game (Harmless #1) by Meli Raine

Four years ago I lost my virginity on live, streaming television.

Too bad I wasn't awake for it.

The video went viral. Of course it would. A Senator's daughter on camera? Wouldn't you click "share"? Besides, that's what three of the four guys in the video did.

Share.

They shared me.

But that fourth guy? The nondescript one in the background in the upper left corner of the screen, just sitting on the couch? The only one who did nothing?

Not one single thing.

That was my boyfriend, Drew.

And that was the last time I saw him.

Until today, when my father--now on a path to the White House--hired him as head of security for my new team as I return home after four years of "recovering" in an undisclosed location that involved white lab coats, needles, pills and damage control.

You see, the other three guys never went to jail. Never had charges pressed.

Never faced consequences.

Until today.

Game on.

Was drawn in by the excerpts. Bought it and read it immediately. Haven't read The Coming Home Series but I will now. Can't wait for the next one in this series , hoping Lindsey gets her due justice.

Be aware this story begins with a serious physical assault on an innocent young woman and continues from there trying to figure out why it happened. Also this is the first of three parts so you will have to wait to read the rest of the story. A truely twisted plot of deceipt, intrigue, and coverup catches the daughter of a powerful Senator and her West Point graduate boyfriend in its net. Committed to a mental health facility to heal, she is imprisoned for four years only to be released into the protection of the man she belives betrayed her love by not stopping the attack. But appearances are false and everything is not what it seems. Who to trust; that, is the question! A well written and perfectly polished story of political intrigue and suspense that has me impatient to see what will happen next.

This book kept me at the wanting more. OMG how many more day till Book 2?!! You can't help but root for Lindsay and Drew. They were high school sweethearts but one night four years ago everything changed. From where Lindsay sees things Drew betrayed her. Drew has a different view of how things played out. The worst thing you can image happened to Lindsay four years ago. People who she trusted hurt her in the worst way. This book was a terrific read and a must read.

Lindsay has such a strong desire to live and take back what truly was taken without her consent, to set out a plan and still be able to function. Drew and her father have secrets that they aren't sharing but for who's well being? Her story is a journey through the years and hardships she endures. The pain and discomfort/ suffering is something not many people could survive. I love this book and can't wait for the next!

The story line is great. However, I don't like the repetitiveness of the story or how prepubescent the main character sounds. I understand she went through a traumatic event, and I'm eager to learn how she gets her revenge, but it seemed a little 'teenagey' to me. Kudos for the plot and character reveals though!

have been reading Meli for a while and I have to say I think this is going to be her best series so far. This book sucks you in from the very first page. Leaves you trying to figure out who is really behind everything that has and is happening to Lindsay and is Drew a good guy or not? For Lindsays sake I really hope he is. Received a complimentary copy of book from author. Anxiously awaiting the next book!

Read in one sitting. Tried to imagine surviving the horrendous experience Lindsay had. Tried to imagine surviving the self doubts, poor parental support, loss of friends. Tried to imagine how I would react to the situations explained in this book. Am compelled to finish not just the next book but the whole series. I try to not read cliffhangers. Didn't realize this book was one. It is compelling enough that I definitely will read the rest. Found no typos and encourage you to read also but know you will need to read other books as well for the complete story.

That is all it took for me to read this book. I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to see how Lindsay gets her revenge and see what she is up to and see if Drew can save her.

I found this to be a very interesting book. The story line draws you in from the start and keeps you enthralled through out. There is a mystery that needs to be solved as Lindsay searches for answers. This was an exciting read and I am looking forward to more in Lindsay's journey to find the truth! I received an ARC for purposes of an unbiased review. All opinions are my own.

5 star review of A Little Harmless Game by Meli Raine (Harmless #1) Meli Raine is a new author to me and I will certainly be looking into her other books as soon as time allows. There is a cliff hanger at the end, so be warned. I actually listened to this on audible so it made the story even more gripping in my opinion. Well where do I start? Firstly there is NOTHING harmless about this game. There is gang rape, torture, violence and such a mind f**k that you feel as though you are on a roller coaster which is out of control and you have no idea where you are going to end up. Lindsay Bosworth is a broken and shattered woman, the result of a traumatic and horrific attack 4 years ago. She has been kept secluded from the public eye since the attack occurred and was plastered all over social media. Even worse than the 3 men who attacked her, her boyfriend sat by and let it all occur, or did he? When she is finally allowed to return to her family, her father sends her bodyguard to escort her home, only problem is that it is Andrew “Drew” Foster, her ex boyfriend. Thrust back into her life, Lindsay has to battle not only her demons but her feelings for the man she believes betrayed her. Not knowing who she can trust she second guesses almost everyone in her life. This was a raw, gritty read that was at time emotional and certainly not for the feint of heart. Well written, the suspense and political intrigue got me from the start and I once I finished I immediately had to one click the remaining two books so that I could find out what happened.

Just like real life got to get so many people involved to cover things up until 1 person just can't live with the quilt of hiding things. Over all a good read I do hate cliff hangers but I might check out the next book

Once I picked it up I was unable to put it down until I finished it. I normally hate cliffhanger¿ reads but, this one I find myself wanting to grab the next in the series which will happen soon as I'm done with this review...right now!

Heart-wrenching story but I fell in love with the characters and want to see them get their revenge. Even though it's a cliffhanger, it's very well-done.

great, but it is 10 bucks to finish the series. Not happening.

To me, this book is mostly about setting the stage: introducing us to the major players, giving us the history of the situation, and explaining why Lindsay is at the point she is. I’ve heard it said that “history is written by the victors”, and with today’s media-machine history is written by the best spin doctors. I’m hooked now to see who’s pulling the strings behind the scenes and how Lindsay and Drew will get their justice.

Kept me guessing...

Enjoyed the intensity of the book and was thrilled at seeing how much Drew really loved and still loves Lindsay!
