About the Author

Born and raised in Canada, I grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. The arts were always in my blood. From a young age (like most Canadians), I took to the ice and for most of my childhood and adolescent years, I was a figure skater. My favorite programs were to Indiana Jones and The Mummy which seemed to have an effect later in my life. During these same years, I also took part in my school's band programs and learned to appreciate the smooth sound of the saxophone. My lunch hours were dedicated to choir, as well as digital media, and the industrial arts. I began writing at age 10, and I can still remember the first moment I picked up a pencil and started scribbling out what had to be the worst story ever. Like most children at that age, school had begun to bore me, and I sought solace in my own imagination. I believe I still have this story hidden away in a dusty container, starring a clawed monster that hid under my bed, waiting for me to fall asleep each night. Thus began my obsession with the paranormal world and the many mysteries within. When I wasn't on the ice, camping, attending concerts-or somewhere in all that, studying-I was reading and writing to my heart's content. As a child, my favorite authors were Christopher Pike and R.L Stein, and my room was riddled with their books, along with a large selection of Choose Your Own Adventures. As I grew, my interests delved into Anne Rice, along with my mother's collection of Danielle Steel, which encouraged my love of the romance genre. Interestingly, my post-secondary education was focused in Archaeology (remember I mentioned Indiana Jones?) and Geography, with a concentration in GIS. After a field school based in Israel, I did a little world travelling to places like Egypt, Spain, England, Italy, etc. Upon graduation, I moved further north than I already lived and here is my current abode where my day job consists of mapping and every other spare minute is dedicated to writing. My interests seem to change on a daily basis, the oddball that I am. This week it seems to be archery, boating, and zumba. Next week, who knows. It keeps me and everyone in my life on our toes. I currently live in Fort St. John, British Columbia, with my high school sweetheart and husband, Shaun, and our three pets: Buddy, Galahad, and Merlin.

Great read! Loved Ryker & Jenna! For generations the Bennett family has been tasked with hunting down and eliminating the creatures of the dark, never questioning the orders and names they are given. When Jenna Sinclair is next on the list, Ryker can’t believe that the only woman he has ever loved, who left him two years ago without explanation, could possibly be a witch. When he also finds out that another hunter is also after her, he knows he needs to find her first to find out the truth. I just loved Ryker – he was totally bad-a$$, yet super sweet and protective when it comes to Jenna. Jenna started off as a pretty weak character, but I loved that she grew into her powers and found her inner-strength as the story progressed. The sparks between the two were enough to start a bonfire, and it was easy to feel just how deep the emotions ran between these two. “He hadn’t meant to choose between them, but it seemed the inevitable had happened. He’d partly hoped that having her one last time would help clear her mind. How wrong he’d been. The image of her alight with fire would forever be burned into his mind; there would be no ridding himself of it. He’d always believed magic to be a sin, but how could anything so beautiful be evil? If he could see it, perhaps his brothers could as well. This book was a great read and had me turning the pages all the way through. Filled with action and steam and a bit of mystery, it was easy to get caught up in the characters and ride right along with the story. I also love it when a book can surprise me with a twist or turn, and this story also did that. I hope there are more books to come that will feature the Bennett brothers, I can definitely see a great story for each of them! I received a copy of this as a gift from the author for an honest review.

Ryker Bennett is a hunter of dark beings sanctioned by the church. When he is told his former girlfriend is a witch and has to be eliminated he takes on the task of doing it himself. Jenna Sinclair ran away 2 years ago when 2 people she loved was killed and she left behind the love of her life to save him.  Now she comes face to face with him and her curse, does she stay or does she run again. This is a good action/thriller/paranormal romance by author Gwen Knight. This has action, suspense, loyalty and romance between a hunter and a witch.  The 2 main characters show you their emotions and you can't help but feel their pain over what to do. This novella is a great read for any paranormal romance book lover that likes a little action and suspense thrown into the story line.

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Ryker Bennett is a hunter. For centuries his family have all lived by the code of a hunter. Their task given to them by the church to  hunt down and killing creatures of the dark. Whatever they may be: witches, vampires, or werewolves. When he is handed the name of his only love as his next assignment he knows there has to be a mistake. His beautiful Jenna couldn't possibly be a witch. Was that why she really left him two years ago? He is determined to find out the answers he needs before she meets her end. Jenna Sinclair made a decision to leave Ryker to protect him. Knowing that he hunted the things that go bump in the night how could she stay with him when she discovered her heritage? She is shocked when she sees Ryker again. The love and attraction that she felt for him never went away. And she must come to grips with the reason that he is there. Because this time it's her he's hunting. I liked Ryker from the beginning. He was strong in his convictions and yet had doubts where Jenna was concerned. I loved seeing as he realized that things aren't always black and white. There are always shades of grey. I gotta admit that now I'm curious about his brothers that were teased along in the story. I'm really hoping that they each get their own books.  Jenna seemed strong one minute and like a wilting flower the next. There was a vulnerability to her that came thru. She had passion and fire (no pun intended) in her that came out when it was needed the most. Even though

Great short story! Ryker and Jenna, hunter & witch, can they overcome their differences? If so what will Ryker's brothers do? This book had a great storyline but a little short for me. Maybe there'll be a sequel!? I could see a whole series coming from this. hint hint ;)

Find this review and more at Lusty Penguin Reviews! Gwen Knight writes a fun and thoroughly entertaining paranormal romance in A Hunter’s Passion. Knight builds a unique paranormal world where hunters, witches, vampires, and more are the norm. Paranormal hunter Ryker Bennett receives his new mission from the Church to hunt down and kill Jenna Sinclair, a witch and also his former lover. Ryker hesitantly accepts the mission because he still loves Jenna, who broke his heart when she took off and left only a note behind. He hopes to discover the reason why she left and possibly whom she is working for. When he finally finds Jenna, Ryker doubts that he will be able to kill her. During the last two years, Jenna has lived in isolation, knowing one day a hunter would come looking for her. When Ryker finds her, she realizes that her feelings for him have not diminished and that her life is over. Jenna displays incredible strength in standing up to Ryker as she tells him to just do his job, which I just loved about her. Ryker and Jenna’s sexual chemistry sizzles, and their bedroom play is uninhibited and scorching hot. When Ryker’s brothers come to finish what Ryker started, Ryker switches from being a hunter to a protector, which endeared his character to me. These two are a charismatic couple that I couldn’t help but cheer for. I was completely surprised by the plot twist at the end and absolutely loved Ryker and Jenna’s perfect-for-them romantic conclusion. A paranormal world with an irresistible couple and an intriguing plot makes A Hunter’s Passion an enchanting read that will leave you wanting more. I’m seriously hoping that Knight will be revisiting Ryker, Jenna, and the other Bennett brothers in the future. I received an eBook copy of the book for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I received this book from the author for an honest review. Ryker knew that Jenna was everything that he could have ever wanted. But one day, she leaves with no real explanation. Two years later Ryker's family is given the task to find Jenna and eliminate her. When they met up again, sparks fly and they find out that Ryker's family is not the only ones hunting Jenna. Can Ryker complete his task or will his love find a way to let Jenna live?

Ryker's family has hunted all "darklings" for years-whether it be vampires, witches, werewolves, etc. It is something that is passed down from generation to generation and sanctioned by the church. Jenna is a nice, gentle librarian that he falls in love with, only to be heartbroken when she leaves him. Jenna had no idea she was a witch, but when she came into her powers she made the decision to leave without telling Ryker why knowing it was his job to hunt her kind. Only Ryker finds out two years later when he and his brothers are given Jenna's name as the next darkling to hunt down and kill because she is a witch. But not only are he and his brothers supposed to kill her, there is another Hunter after her as well. I loved this book! It is full of passion and action, and has a great storyline. I hope all of Ryker's brothers get their own stories!

Ryker Bennett and Jenna Sinclair are two lovers who are torn apart in this short story by Gwen Knight. Ryker Bennett is a Hunter, someone who hunts down  and kills darklings - witches, vampires, and werewolves. Aided by the Church he and his four brothers are given the name of the darkling that they need to kill. After discovering she is a witch Jenna Sinclair left Ryker two years ago to protect him from having to make a choice, following his brothers and their church sworn duty to kill her or going against everything he knows to choose her and their love.  One day Ryker's family was assigned a familiar name - Jenna's. What happens after he tracks her down is what makes this short story worth reading. Perfect for a break, or lunch time reading. I'd love to see this story and thoughtful characters expanded upon and have a full length novel follow-up.
