Overview

Buoyed by dry humor and compassion, these poems expose readers to a wrenching spectrum of human emotion and experience, not as recollected, but caught in the act, thus revealing poetry's power to penetrate, illuminate and hearten.

About the Author

Pat Sharpe loves words, learning and adventure, not necessarily in that order, and they all came into play while she was living in faraway places like Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and the Dominican Republic. When she can, she hikes, so she makes her home surrounded by mountains in northern New Mexico, and while she hikes she gets a bonus: ideas for poems and stories. Meanwhile, she also writes on politics and diplomacy as cofounder of the well respected blog WhirledView. Her novella, "Driving under the Influence," will appear in 2013.
