About the Author

Matthew Lewin was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1944. After studying at university and training as a journalist he left the country in 1969, travelling and freelancing for a year in South America. He came to London in 1970 and discovered the joys of English local weekly papers. In 1973 he joined the staff of the famous Hampstead and Highgate Express, finally becoming editor for six years until 2000. Since then he has been a freelance journalist, runs a Grade 1 listed building in Hampstead, has written a stage play and is planning more novels.
