About the Author

Dr. Ajay Kumar Upadhyay born at District Azamgarh and did his pre-graduation schooling at Prestigious S.K. Inter College, popularly known as 'Khatri Pathshala' of Alalhabad that has a very rich galaxy of alumni. He did his graduation in the year 1986 from College of Veterinary Sciences, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Post graduation from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly and Ph.D. work back from the graduating institute. He served the Department of Animal Husbandry during the year 1990 & 1991 and joined as Assistant Professor in December 1991 at the Department of Medicine, College of Veterinary Sciences, Pantnagar. He became Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine in the year 2001. Now working as Professor and Head, Department of Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology. He is member of 11 professional societies and authored more than 5 books and 6 manuals. He has earned several honours and awards related with professional work and fellow of Academy of Sciences for Animal Welfare.



Dr. S. C. Tripathi, MVSc, Ph.D, is working as Professor in the Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education, College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Pantnagar. He is having over 25 years of experience in teaching, research, extension and administration. Dr. Tripathi has published over 40 research and semi research papers in journals of national & international repute. He has contributed number of policy papers and chapters in books and authored 8 proceedings. His proceedings "Food Safety Quality Assurance and Global Trade: Concerns & Strategies" published by IBDC Lucknow, fetch special attention of readers and policy planners. Dr Tripathi worked as technical advisor to Minister for Animal Husbandry & Fisheries, Uttar Pradesh as well as UP Poultry & Livestock Specialities Ltd., UP while working as Scientific Officer, U P Council of Agricultural Research (UP). Various awards and honours conferred to Dr. Tripathi include Late G.V. Narayana Khedkar Memorial Award-2002, Vigyan Bharti Appreciation Award-2000 and Pashu Mitra Award-1999.
