CHAPTER 1

Did you know that a monstrous spaceship landed on my playground yesterday? Well it sure did, honest it did. I live in Arizona so maybe they thought they on landed the moon or something.

Let me tell you about it. It looked like two bowls put together. You know, one upside down and on top of the other. It was a shiny silver spaceship with blue and red stars on it. There were lots and lots of huge fire jets coming out of the bottom of it. This ship was right in the middle of my favorite place in the whole wide world to play. Yes, it was on my playground.

Space Kids were everywhere, just everywhere! There were Space Kids playing on the enormous blue Jungle Jim that I always play on with all of my friends. Space Kids playing on my wonderful playground! I don't believe it!

There were Space Kids on the slides, the monkey bars and in the sand. The Space Kid with five arms, three heads and one foot could really build some great sand castles.

I was surprised and a little afraid when I saw them. The Space Kids called to me and my friends. They asked us if we wanted to play with them. Why not after all it is our playground?

When we went over to talk with them, boy were we excited and a little scared. The Space Kids really looked different from us. There was a space boy on the swings with two heads, six eyes and four arms. His teacher was giving him a push to get started.

The Space Kids were very friendly and even nice to us. We all decided to play on the enormous blue Jungle Jim. Everyone took turns on the hand swing and push bars. Then, we tried the hand over hand bars and last we went up and down the ladder. The Space Kid with three legs, two arms and one big eye was a fast climber!

We were having an awesome time playing together and making new friends, but we were getting very hungry. I invited them to lunch. The ladies in the cafeteria almost lost their eyeballs when they saw all of us walk into the cafeteria.

We showed the Space Kids how to go through the lunch line. We even let them share our numbers on the lunch machine to buy lunch. After that we got our food and went and sat down. Wow! Space Kids eat a LOT! The cafeteria ladies had to make more food because the Space Kids ate so much. That never happened before. The ladies always make good food for us and we always have enough food for everyone.
