Overview

Let's lay on our backs, or on our stomachs, sprawled on the front porch at Grandma Crow's feet. There's no place else to be on a hot summer night in Georgia, enjoying God's own air conditioning. One of her stories will set the mood as our heads nod us off to sleep, and our dreams add pictures to her words. Tonight's story tells of a long gone way of life that's turned to dust. Yet, within a single dust speck a piece of that world still exists. According to Grandma Crow, the Cherokee folks of yesteryear are still here, living in all their glory.

About the Author

I’m Ethelle Gladden, and I live in Ojai, California. I’m a family matriarch of sorts, with my family consisting of a niece, two nephews and four cats—everybody else is strewn along the east coast. I drove to California in 1988 and found my way to Ojai in 1993. My career in writing children’s picture books was launched in 2010. It’s what I enjoy and have yet to outgrow (if 56 years hasn’t done it, nothing will)!
