A SECOND EPILOGUE: Catch up with the Trents, meet up with old friends, and possibly meet someone new.

 Dearest Reader,

You are cordially invited to the wedding of Mr. Jonathan Bridges and Miss Genviève Mirabelle. The marriage is to take place at the Church of St. George, Hanover Square, Mayfair, London, on May 1, 1815 at two in the afternoon. I am fully aware that this is not a proper or appropriate time for a wedding. However, the church has been quite busy of late, sometimes with two and three weddings scheduled a day, and neither the bride nor groom were willing to wait weeks just so they can be married before noon. Thus, they have expedited matters and obtained a Special License. This was mainly due to Mr. Bridges not willing to wait longer than necessary to make Miss Mirabelle his bride.

A wedding breakfast shall follow at the home of Lord and Lady Bentley, and a ball will be held that evening. I do hope you'll join us for this most celebrated event. Besides the Trents, friends and acquaintances you might be familiar with will also be in attendance, but I don't dare give their names away. That would ruin the surprise.

The Right Honorable Countess of Bentley

About the Author

Jane Charles has lived in the Midwest her entire life. As a child she would more likely be found outside with a baseball than a book in her hand. In fact, Jane hated reading until she was sixteen. Out of boredom on a long road trip she borrowed her older sister’s historical romance and fell in love with reading. She long ago lost count of how many fiction novels she has read over the years and her love for them never died.  Along with romance she has a passion for history and the two soon combined when she penned her first historical romance.  What turned into a hobby became a passion, which has been fully supported by her husband, three children and three cats.

This is definitely one you need read AFTER you've read all the Trent's stories. I was a little lost since I haven't read all of them yet, but I was able to catch up pretty quick. This is basically a "catch up" for all members in the family with a set up for Rose's story. Still a very good read with all the mini stories involved!

I love the Trent series! And it was so much fun getting to catch up with everyone the wedding. I want to start over and re-read these stories just to spend more time with these characters.

May 1815 Rose Trent is the Dowager Countess of Bentley and a second wife. She was married at age 15 to the former Earl of Bentley who was 35 at the time. The man was mean, cruel, and cold. So, Rose is happy now that he died when off on a holiday with a friend. Clayton Trent is the current Earl of Bentley. He has three brothers Jordan, Matthew, and John. Today, Genvieve Mirabelle is marrying Mr. Jonathan Bridges and the entire family - both Rose’s children, stepchildren, and grandchildren have all gathered to enjoy the day. As I am new to Jane Charles, I found myself a bit confused when I first started reading this book. Once I discovered that it was an concluding story that includes characters from the entire ten Tenacious Trents novels, I found I could relax a bit more and enjoy the story which was very well written. There is a lot of humor, good-natured teasing by siblings and friends, and well-developed characters.

This extended epilogue picks up shortly after the events in Lady Concealed and focuses on the wedding, luncheon, and ball celebrating Genvieve Mirabelle and Jonathon Bridges' marriage. The bride's step-brother, the Earl of Bentley, has invited most of society and is going to set matters straight about any rumors and scandal surrounding the Trent family. Each little vignette is from the viewpoint of a couple or character from previous Tenacious Trents books, as well as characters from related stories. The Duke of Danby is even in attendance! This is a quick read that will get you up to date on all the other couples and introduce a few more story lines for the future. It is interesting to get each character's take on what is happening on the wedding day. I've read a few of the related books, so it was good to catch up with those characters. I'm sure it would be even more enjoyable once I've read the whole series.

A Tenacious Trents Wedding picks up as Genviéve Mirabelle & Jonathon Bridges are married then follows them and the Trent family through the wedding luncheon & ball AND setting the ton on its ear. Jane Charles takes a different approach to the second epilogue & the result is wonderful. You get a feel for each character & their thoughts from the series and are re-introduced to some secondary characters that will definitely intrigue you. Be prepared to laugh as the Trent brothers pull an awful trick on the bridegroom & to cry as one family has not (as of yet) been able to achieve the one thing they both long for. In my opinion – a definite MUST read.
