A Trail Revisited based on 0 ratings. 1 reviews.
My old friend, C.R. "Ron" Monroe, is writing his books faster than I can review them. I'm just now getting around to commenting on his second book, A Trail Revisited, and I hear he's already half way through his third. This is good news to me and to anyone who might be interested. I found an improvement in this book over the first. Ron is not an experienced novelist so I'm not surprised that this one is a little more polished and readable than his first novel. Whereas many writers seem to live exclusively in a world of books C.R. Monroe lives in the world, period. He's knows this world so well and is so much a part of it that when he finally leaves it tall pine trees will lower their branches and wolves and coyotes in the mountains and valleys he's traveled will know that one of the great ones has passed and mourn him. Okay, I'm exaggerating, but I hope it's not any time soon because I want to read that final book and see how this story all comes together. He's done a great job of setting up a meeting between the Arapahoe and the Sioux in this book and I have no idea how it will play out. So come on, Ron, get that third book wrote up and published. For anyone who'd like to hear a good tale of the old west, the camp fire is burning so find yourself a stump to sit on and start reading.
