A Walk Down Main Street

The FBI hard boy says, “I’ll have my strike team, not too far behind you.”
Jason can see the FBI hard boy being interviewed, after the strike operation. “We followed hot rod boy in, did a strike on the girl and the Mexican hard boys. What is this thing you call ‘survivors’?”
(Jason asks himself, “What am I doing here? Okay, Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel vacation.”)
Jason leads FBI Wilma out to his Willys hot rod. They get in.
Wilma asks, “If we have to run for it, will this car (read old piece of junk) do it?”
Jason sighs, “A 350 Chevy, fuel injection, big roller cam, high compression pistons, headers, major port job, watch my Willy’s fly.”
Jason drives up the road to the lake.
Wilma says, “At least your car seems to handle the road up to the lake well.
Jason laughs and says, “You aint seen nothing yet.”
As they approach the motels, Wilma uses her phone to tell the FBI hard boys, “Wilma here. I can see motel signs and we are about to do a reconnaissance.”
Jason makes the turn into the first motel parking lot. He cruises past the few parked cars, without spotting anything of interest. Jason cruises past the back units of the motel, again without spotting anything of interest. Then Jason cruises out of the first motel parking lot, again without spotting anything of interest.
Wilma says, “First motel a zero.”
Jason makes the turn into the second motel parking lot. He cruises past the few parked cars, without spotting anything of interest. Jason then cruises past the back units of the motel. Jason spots Linda’s car among several new rental cars. Jason says, “The battered old Dodge.”
Wilma phones, “Target spotted, among several new rental cars. I read Mexican cartel boys. Lights on in unit 13.”
Wilma tells Jason, “Strike force on the way.”
Jason cruises out of the second motel parking lot, in no hurry. He then drives back to the road to the highway.
Wilma tells Jason, “Game On! The Mexicans maybe gonna try to run. We have a runner!”
Jason ups the speed of his car and continues on the road back to the highway. He spots a pair of head lights back up the road to the highway. He says, “We have a car behind us. It may be cartel hard boys.”
Wilma tells Jason, “The strike force guys tell me that the car behind us is Mexican hard boys on the run.”
Jason says, “They are moving fast, but they may not be after us. I’ll see.” Jason gets to the highway, makes a turn and heads back in the direction of the FBI motel and also in the direction of home.
The car behind Jason’s car also makes a turn and follows Jason’s car.
Jason says, “At the speed that we’re moving, we are being followed. Chances are the Mexican hard boys are after us. They still have to catch us.”
Wilma relays Jason’s information to the FBI car chasing the runner.”
Wilma then tells Jason, “The Mexicans may well have something like Kalashnikov AK-74 assault rifles with incendiary rounds.”
Jason says, “Well then, I better not let them get too close.”
Jason thinks, “Okay, Chevy, time to step up. We gonna have to out run a car with maybe forced induction. You can do it, we just gotta work together. The highway is mostly flat and smooth here, I need to play the wind a bit. I need to use any advantage.”
Wilma tells the FBI chase car, “Jason seems to be maintaining distance from the following Mexican car.”
The FBI guy says, “Local boy gonna have to do it on his own. We are at full throttle and we are still dropping back from the Mexicans.”
I scan the gauges and all seems well. The temperature is within limits and the gas should last for a bit, since I started with a full tank. Maintaining speed. I fly past a tourist car, bad spot for tourist car.
Wilma’s phone beeps, “Wilma, the Mexican car is burning off the mufflers. We are now running in the oncoming lanes to avoid the debris.”
Wilma says, “Jason is apparently also picking and choosing his lanes. He is running at high speed but trying to use the least wind resistance.”

About the Author

I'm the co-author, with Sunset Thomas, of Anatomy of An Adult Film.

I have 48 novels and over 299 short stories currently published.

I spent my early years in the part of Los Angeles known as the South Central. I was known as Whi' Boy, which was sufficient to identify me in that place. I'm a skilled Kung Fu player, using a system that I learned from a Korean I knew only as 'Pak.' It would be easier to tell you the places that Pak wasn't wanted by the police, rather than the places where he was wanted by the police. Pak's Kung Fu system, augmented by some bits and pieces from some Chinese practitioners is quick and effective, or I wouldn't be alive today.

My early education was mostly obtained by stealing books from the public library (I always returned them and the Librarian even began to provide me with reading lists.) I did go to high schools, but I never really learned anything there. I eventually graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, UCLA, with a degree in mathematics.

I work as a Systems Analyst and also make a part of my living as a professional gambler (legal in Nevada.) I write science fiction and erotica. My published novels are:
