About the Author

From the time she was six, and achieved her first writing success in a poem titled, If I Had a Pony, which received rave reviews from her mother, by the way, Dianne DeSpain always knew she wanted to write something...anything. Sidetracked by a degree in music, then another one in nursing, followed by marriage, children and full-time stay-at-home mothering, she got off-track for a few years, but came back around to the writing desire when she noticed that her kids were growing up and getting lives of their own, and her husband’s business was taking off leaving him less at home and more at work. In other words, life was moving on and Dianne wasn’t. So, back to the writing thing.
Not to be discouraged by the sure knowledge she wasn’t a poet, Dianne ventured out to her first writing conference
