As you just read, According to Isaac is an imaginative retelling of the enigmatic Abraham/Isaac story from Genesis 22, in which God tells Abraham to sacrifice his son.

In this version, Isaac is the storyteller. It's only when Isaac feels Abraham's knife across his throat that he realizes he is the intended sacrifice.
