Adventure can mean so many things. For some, it means climbing the peaks of Tibet, sailing the open seas or cycling through Europe. For others, adventure is conquering a fear or pushing yourself to a whole new level. And for many, adventure means bravely stepping into the unknown of a new culture, language or setting. Adventure travel, in its essence, means pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone to experience something novel and worthwhile. This unique collection of travel stories will no doubt keep you on your feet from start to finish. Each experience is as moving as the one before, and has the ability to transport you to different places all around the world. What I like most about travel anthologies is their power to combine various perspectives into one collective work, keeping you entertained and absorbed while you read. That was definitely the case when I picked up Adventures of a Lifetime. There is a story for everyone, no matter what type of travel you find rewarding. You can hear each author's distinctive voice while reading about their experience, and that was something I especially valued in this anthology. The diverse places and people become real while you read, curing you of your wanderlust. Every author is truly passionate about delivering a great tale of adventure, and that is evident as you go from one to the next. I was able to finish this book almost too quickly due to the fact that I couldn't put it down. It is both energizing and engaging, leaving you eager to plan your next adventure. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who values a good travel experience, or simply looking for inspiration from around the globe.
