In the Adventures of Button Broken Tail, Book I, you met Buttons the unrependent Scottish terrier, who grows from a pup to the young bitch she is. In Book II she is even more active, if that's possible. With her gang's help she first must meet and beat the arrogant but superb Afghan hound in obedience competition. In failing she must return to basics with the help of her rambunctious gang. Their techniques are arduous, difficult, and unrelenting. The finale is as chaotic as Senta, the spotted skunk, and her striped friends can make it. The pace picks up as Buttons and Ssserek, the rattlesnake, meet the Hunter and his vicious hounds, and later Buttons with the help of the ever present Sally the Beagle the task is even more difficult. Coyote mother, Senta the Spotted skunk and her striped friends must all take a part in the battle with the Trapper. The action is unrelenting, as is the fun and sadness. As in Delph the alligator's final battle with the Sideshow Man. Elmer the Saint Bernard had the healing balm as the book ends with Button's facade being stripped as she follows, feet of mud, Sally home. Enjoy!
