About the Author

Diana Baleanu was born in Bucharest, Romania, in the 1970s. As the daughter of a diplomat, she spent her early years living between Bucharest and her father’s diplomatic posts. Following her father’s defection to the West in 1987, Diana and the rest of the family were forced to remain in Romania and face persecution from the tyrannical communist government of the time. Reunited with her father after the collapse of the Iron Curtain, she now lives in England with her two daughters and husband and enjoys a career in teaching.
