Overall Rating: 3.5/4 Stars | Medium/Hot Steam Among the many wonderful things that I look forward to during the Christmas season, I especially cherish a sizzling and swoon-worthy holiday romance to read. This year, to my utter delight, I was gifted four of them to savor in one charming and festive-themed Historical novella anthology, ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A DUKE. Not only did this collection deliver a series of entertaining, sweet and steamy Christmasy escapes, it also gave me a shining quartet of new-to-me Historical authors with extensive back catalogs of tempting titles to add to my TBR list! Merry Christmas to me! ❄ The Duke and the Duchess Trap by Valerie Bowman 3 Stars | Hot Steam You might be able to glean from its title that this story is based on a popular 60’s Disney film and its modern remake. While the plot is predictable since it is almost identical to both films, Elizabeth and Nathan’s pleasing second-chance romance inspires lots of smiles, more than a few heated sighs and, in the end, happy tears. Bowman’s engaging writing makes this retelling enjoyable, however, some plot twists and surprises would have made this good novella great. Sophie and the Duke by Tiffany Clare 3.5/4 Stars | Hot Steam Sophie and Adrian’s whirlwind Cinderellaesque romance really captured me. Their magical, thrilling and utterly romantic tale swept me off of my feet! This dreamy pair’s attraction is instant and powerful, their friendship is honest, playful and endearing and their love is beautiful and believable. And Adrain… He is positively delectable! So much fun! The Duke’s Christmas Wish by Vivienne Lorret 3.5/4 Stars | Medium Steam A unconventional, bookish Duke and a strong, uncommonly appealing on-the-shelf miss fumble, fuse and ignite in this fabulous and well-written sparkler of a romance. Unique, intense and passionate, North and Ivy’s enlivening and surprising story entranced me from start to finish. One Magic Season by Ashlyn Macnamara 4/4.5 Stars | Hot Steam My favorite of the four, One Magic Season truly satisfied my Christmas craving for high heat and holiday spirit! Intimate, affecting, brazen and blazing hot, Patience and Nathaniel’s spectacular second-chance romance was the perfect finish to this splendid anthology. Fueled by a decade’s worth of pain, longing, unrequited love and searing lust, this fated pair’s riveting reunion was unforgettable! The precious secluded time they spend together reconnecting is so potent, joyous, redeeming and white hot that I simply didn’t want it to end! But, when it does, it’s the happiest ever after you that could possibly imagine for the deserving couple! Utter perfection! Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

Loved all the stories.

I like anthologies because I am introduced to new authors plus they are short light reads. I really have a hard time passing up a Christmas regency romance. The stories are good and this book fit into the category of light Christmas tales.

One of the things I love about anthologies is discovering new authors. All of these authors were new to me and it was a delight to read their voices and then rush to see if they have a backlist. “The Duke and Duchess Trap” by Valerie Bowman is a regency adaption from the movie “The Parent Trap”. The Duke and Duchess of Hollingsworth were married young and then separated, each taking one of their twin daughters. Twelve years later they’re reunited after the two girls meet at school. The romance was stalled for a bit as the story had to focus on the two girls meeting and exchanging places, but I loved reading about the Duke and Duchess changed and grew over the years. “Sophie and the Duke” by Tiffany Clare has some hints from Cinderella. In order to obtain his inheritance and save his estate, Adrian Trenton, the Duke of Helmsworth, is holding a masked ball to find a bride. At the party he meets Sophie Kinsley, an old childhood friend he hasn’t seen in fifteen years. Sophie and her cousin are at the party to have some fun and avoid the watchful eye of Sophie’s stepmother. There were so many opportunities to increase the conflict between Sophie and Adrian by either using Sophie’s stepmother or Adrian’s uncle, but these minor characters weren’t used to their full potential leaving the story flat without any conflict. “The Duke’s Christmas Wish” by Vivienne Lorret was my favorite in the entire anthology! Who doesn’t love a hero that cynically believes a partner can be found through a scientific formula?! The Duke of Vale desperately wants to be accepted into society by proving his Marriage Formula works and that means inviting a house full of potential brides to his estate. Ivy Sutherland is firmly on the shelf, but believes that her friend Lilah would make the perfect wife for the Duke. Lorret masterfully builds the sexual tension in each scene and creates (what Sandra Brown refers as) a ‘hyperawareness’ between the hero and heroine. The plot and dialogue were original and fun and I definitely checked on her backlist, buying several of her books, based on the talent I read in her novella. Bravo, Ms. Lorret! “One Magic Season” by Ashlyn Macnamara is a second chance at love story. Lady Patience assists an old romantic interest in a snow storm. It seems Duke of Kingsbury and she fell in love in their youth, but because of family pressures, they both married other people. I did love how these two characters faced their pasts and each other’s weaknesses in order to be together.

The Duke and Duchess Trap by Valerie Bowman I am sure this has been said more than one time but let be just say it again. This read is a blatant reminder of the movie 'The Parent Trap'. Right down to the twin daughters. The separation. The lingering love. The why you did not come after me. It was all there but in Regency style romance. This was a delightful read. Sophie and the Duke by Tiffany Clare I felt a few different things here. The early childhood bond between Sophie and shall I say it 'HER' Duke. Gave me the feel of a lost friendship renewed but there were those pesky step sisters and the step mother. Her father should have been thrashed. But this here was just a different, yet subtle spin on an age old tale 'Cinderella'. The read was nice and the pace kept going. The Duke’s Christmas Wish by Vivienne Lorret Think it odd that a Duke would want to dabble in the art of matchmaking. Thinks it not odd he did not find it beneath him. This Duke got more than he bargained for this time around when he is hit with something more than money, titles, and the right lineage. Ivy comes in a make it all a different kind of match. This Duke learned that love has something big to do with a very successful and filling match. This read will remind you of many a romances that started out with her not having enough of something to make it possible, but love has its own way of showing you that it can be all you need. One Magic Season by Ashlyn Macnamara Second chances are what is need and what better time of the year to provide one but the Christmas season. Patience has her second chance with her Duke this season. It was the combination of the season and the fact this was a second chance for then that made this one the best one for me in this anthology. For a magical holiday read, I do recommend you grab your favorite blanket, corner, mug of a hot drink, and don't forget you book/e-reader and dive right in for a holiday spirit filled read.

The Duke and Duchess Trap by Valerie Bowman Reminded me of The Parent Trap movie! The Duke and his Duchess parted more than a decade before, but their twin girls bring them back together and help them re-discover their feelings for each other. Sophie and the Duke by Tiffany Clare Sophie and her Duke were childhood friends, but they haven't seen each other for 15 years. When they meet again during a masked ball, he is instantly attracted to her, making her the perfect choice to be his bride. Reminded me a little of Cinderella, complete with an evil stepmother and stepsister. The Duke’s Christmas Wish by Vivienne Lorret The Duke thinks himself a matchmaker, until he meets Ivy. Unfortunately Ivy could never be anyone's match due to her lineage, and that made for a few heartbreaking moments until he realizes there is more to the perfect match than titles, money and interests. One Magic Season by Ashlyn Macnamara Beautiful story about a second chance at love. The Duke and Patience finally got the chance to be with the one they love without family interference. I loved this anthology full of Christmas magic and romance! I received an ARC for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

This is the perfect Christmas anthology! Four delightful stories with the Christmas spirit and each with a Duke! The Duke and Duchess Trap is a Regency twist on The Parent Trap, and it is a delicious read! Sophie and the Duke is a wonderful story of a childhood friends who discover love as adults. The Duke's Christmas Wish is a fun story a nerdy Duke concocting a formula to leave love out of the equation of marriage, unfortunately he can't perfect his theory because he falls victim to love with a nerdy girl. One Magic Season is a second chance love. I thoroughly enjoyed these HEA Christmas stories with just enough heat to keep you warm on a winter's night.

This was a very enjoyable Christmas anthology. Valerie Bowman's story was a take on the movie "The Parent Trap". Since I grew up watching Hayley Mills' movies I loved it! Tiffany Clare's story was a Cinderella tale. I liked it a lot but wondered, since the heroine was a Lady, why her father had never set aside a dowry for her when he remarried. Vivian Lorrett's Duke was an inventor and sure he had a formula for making matches with no emotions. That worked until he fell in love. This was fun. Ashlyn MacNamara A couple that fell in love years ago gets a second chance at happiness and lets no one stand in their way. Nice story. I really enjoy holiday stories and can easily recommend this book.

This is a fun collection of Christmas novellas set in the Regency and Victorian eras. They are quick to read and get right to the Christmas magic to bring the heroes and heroines together. The Duke and Duchess Trap by Valerie Bowman is a Regency take on The Parent Trap. The wily twins are adorable, and the scheming grandmother just adds to the fun. Sophie and the Duke by Tiffany Clare is a Cinderella story. The duke must marry before Christmas to fulfill his father's will, so a grand ball is planned for the duke to have his pick of lovely young ladies. Sophie isn't even supposed to be at the ball, and if her stepmother finds out, she'll never be allowed to leave the house again. In The Duke's Christmas Wish by Vivienne Lorret, the duke is a scientist and inventor who has just come up with the world's first matchmaking algorithm. It might just blow his theory out of the water if he falls in love with a woman his mathematics cannot quantify. In One Magic Season by Ashlyn Macnamara, a widowed countess and a widower duke meet on the road at Christmas time during a snowstorm. Ten years ago, they might have married each other if the duke had been able to stand up to his family. Can this chance meeting bring them a second chance at love?
