About the Author

Oscar Edward Wells is retired military officer. He started his military career in the Navy on August 1964. Served 12 months in Vietnam on Swift Boat duty as a Petty Officer Second Class (E-5) and received a Purple Heart in combat 1967. Entered the Army in August of 1974 as a Private First Class. Was promoted to Specialists Five eight weeks after Basic Training under a special program, “STRIPES for SKILLS”. Entered the Branch Immaterial Officer Candidate School (OCS), at Fort Benning, Ga, in February of 1976. Commissioned a Signal Corp Second Lieutenant 4 April 1976. Retired from the Army after twenty-two years of combined military service on July 30, 1990 at the rank of Major. Received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Valdosta State University, Valdosta, Georgia in December 1980. Received a Master of Education Degree from Cambridge College, National Institute of Teaching Excellence, Boston Massachusetts in January 2005.
