About the Author

As President of Mediators Foundation, which he founded over twenty years ago, Mark has launched scores of projects that have advanced the field of global citizenship. He has also worked with a wide variety of organizations including the US Congress, mul- tinational corporations, and the United Nations. The author of numerous books, including the recent Leading Through Con- flict (Harvard Business School Press), he lectures and conducts workshops throughout the world.
For four decades, Gerzon has been involved in global affairs — first as a student (he lived in families in seven different cul- tures during his year with the International Honors Program); next as a citizen diplomat (he worked for several years bringing together Soviet and American civic leaders to help end the cold war); then as a journalist (he co-founded WorldPaper, a “global newspaper” which reached a circulation of 1.5 million in five languages); and more recently as a leadership consultant and UN mediator.
One of his primary projects currently is the “Global Citizen Journey,” a powerful interactive presentation and workshop inspired by this book that provides participants with an oppor- tunity to raise their global awareness and identify how they can uniquely serve the earth.
