About the Author

Louis Maistros is the author of the critically acclaimed New Orleans novel, "The Sound of Building Coffins." A longtime resident of the New Orleans’ 8th Ward neighborhood, he is a former forklift operator, French Market vendor, and self-taught writer with no formal training. His work has appeared in publications such as the New Orleans Times-Picayune and the Baltimore City Paper, among others. He is also the author of a collection of short stories and essays called "Anti-requiem: New Orleans Stories by Louis Maistros," and is currently at work on his second New Orleans novel, tentatively titled "Holy Meaux."
