In this book the author describes assisted living administration, including regulations, pertinent definitions, concepts of financial management, staffing, personnel management, and resident assessment and care. The book was written to assist those in assisted living administration to prepare for the assisted living licensing exam. The book is to be used by administrators in assisted living as they prepare for the licensing exam. It would potentially be helpful to a broader audience such as the director of nursing in the assisted living facility. Topics associated with assisted living administration are thoroughly covered. The book is broken down into five distinct subject areas, each of which is thoroughly discussed. The format is very flexible and the subjects can be reviewed out of sequence. The discussion of resident care policies is inadequately referenced to the federal guidelines and the MDS RAI Manual. This book offers a wide variety of subject matter as it relates to assisted living. The topics are current and content is correct. However, the sources are not always referenced as meticulously as they should be.
