About the Author

Back in 1984, Vickie Hutchins and Jo Ann Martin, next-door neighbors raising their families in the little town of Delaware, Ohio, started Gooseberry Patch. They were two moms with small children looking for a way to do what they loved and stay home with the kids too. They shared a love of home cooking and making memories with family&friends. After many a conversation over the backyard fence, Gooseberry Patch was born.
They put together the first catalog&cookbooks at their kitchen tables and packed boxes from the basement, enlisting the help of loved ones wherever they could. From that little family, Gooseberry Patch has grown to include an amazing group of creative folks who love cooking, decorating and creating as much as Vicki and Jo Ann. Hard to believe it's been over 25 years since those kitchen-table days.

Recipe

Topsy-Turvy Lasagna

^3/4 lb. ground beef
28-oz. jar spaghetti sauce
5 c. cooked egg noodles
1 c. cottage cheese
8-oz. pkg. shredded mozzarella cheese divided

Brown ground beef in a skillet; drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce; simmer for 10 minutes. In a lightly greased 2-quart casserole dish, combine noodles, ground beef mixture, cottage cheese and one cup mozzarella cheese. Top with remaining mozzarella. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Serves 8 to 10.

Barbecue Chicken Pizza

12-inch Italian pizza crust
3 c. cooked chicken, shredded
1 c. barbecue sauce
1 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
½ c. shredded Cheddar cheese

Place pizza crust on a lightly greased 12" pizza pan; set aside. Combine chicken and barbecue sauce; spread on pizza crust. Sprinkle with cheeses. Bake at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, or until cheeses melt and crust is crisp. Serves 4.
