CHAPTER 1

Once upon a time, there was a very happy baby cub named Zoé. She loved to smile because she was with Mama Bear.

Il était une fois, un bébé ourson très joyeux qui s'appelait Zoé. Elle aimait sourire parce qu'elle était avec Maman ourse.

Mama Bear had beautiful caramel coloured fur and Baby Cub Zoé had very soft root beer coloured fur.

Maman ourse avait une belle fourrure couleur caramel et Bébé ourson Zoé avait une fourrure très douce couleur racinette.

Mama Bear brought Baby Cub Zoé everywhere she went. She loved taking the time to stop when Zoé wanted to play.

Maman ourse amenait Bébé ourson Zoé partout où elle allait. Elle aimait prendre le temps d'arrêter quand Zoé voulait s'amuser.

Zoé would look at the blue sky, say hello to the birds and play with the other little bears. She made new friends everywhere she went. Mama Bear always made sure everyone was safe and had a great time.

Zoé regardait le ciel bleu, disait bonjour aux oiseaux et jouait avec les autres oursons. Elle se faisait de nouveaux amis partout où elle allait. Maman ourse s'assurait toujours que tous les amis étaient en sécurité et que chacun avait beaucoup de plaisir.

Zoé would play in the woods, wash her paws in the river and bend to smell the pretty flowers.

Zoé jouait dans le bois, lavait ses pattes dans la rivière et se penchait pour sentir les jolies fleurs.

One day, Zoé made Mama Bear a very beautiful necklace with some flowers that she found in the field. Mama Bear gave Baby Cub a great big hug and said thank you.

Un jour, Zoé a fait un très joli collier pour Maman ourse avec des fleurs qu'elle avait trouvées dans le champ. Maman ourse a fait une belle caresse à Zoé et lui a dit merci.

Zoé was always curious to see what the other animals were doing. One thing she always wanted to do was play with the bigger bears, but she couldn't keep up with them.

Zoé était toujours curieuse de voir ce que les autres animaux faisaient. Elle voulait toujours jouer avec les grands oursons mais elle n'arrivait pas à les suivre.

The bigger bears would go in the mud and work hard to get out of it. Baby Cub Zoé would get stuck because the mud was too deep for her little legs. She would call her mama with her soft voice for someone to help her get out of the thick mud.

Les grands oursons allaient dans la boue et travaillaient fort pour s'en sortir. Bébé ourson Zoé n'était pas capable de sortir parce que la boue était trop profonde pour ses petites pattes. Elle appelait sa maman avec sa petite voix douce pour que quelqu'un l'aide à sortir de la boue épaisse.
