"I love this Beauty and the Beast story that Skye Warren has crafted. She puts a twist to this classic tale that makes it different and deliciously erotic." - Nina's Literary Escape

Once upon a time there was a beautiful college student...

Erin cleans Mr. Morris's house twice a week to pay her tuition. The reclusive ex-soldier intimidates her, but she can't help but feel sympathy for him. Then she walks in on him touching himself, and she has much darker, much more sensual feelings.

And a beastly professor with scars he can't hide...

Blake Morris knows he's scarred both inside and out. He's reclusive and surly. Nowhere near good enough for the smart and beautiful young woman who cleans his house.

He receives an offer to return to his alma mater as an associate professor. This is his chance to reenter the world--and to be worthy of the woman he dreams about. He never expected to see her sitting in his classroom on the first day of the semester.

Modern Fairy Tale Duet Book One. Erin Rodriguez, a student at Tanglewood University, has been cleaning Blake Morris's house two nights a week until she walks in on him in a compromising position. She immediately feels bad for invading her employer's privacy, but when he says her name, she cannot stay away. After being together for a short period of time, Blake gets an offer to teach at the university. Erin is thrilled for him, but nervous about dating a professor at the same school she attends. They talk about the situation but decide that since she isn't his student, it will be ok. Until Erin's class with a blank professor is filled by Professor Blake Morris. If you're looking for a geeky take on Beauty and the Beast, this is the duet for you! However, you will need Falling for the Beast, as this book has a cliffhanger. AudiobookObsession

I enjoyed this story. A forbidden love between student and professor although they are not student and professor when they first start together I have to say. Erin works for Blake as a maid so that she can afford her schooling. The chemistry is hot between these two from the beginning, but it isn't until Erin finds Blake in a compromising position that they have to face their issues. Blake is not one for going out in public since his accident in the army. But Erin brings something out in him. When he decides to start working again at the local college, and she becomes his student after they have already become intimate, they have to decide what is more critical their relationship that has just started or his career and her future? Excellent start of a duet.

5 Stars Review by Amy W. Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog So, Skye Warren and a Beauty and the Beast retelling. Hell to the Y-E-S!!! Beauty and the Professor takes one of my favorite fairy tales and gives it a new, delicious and forbidden spin. Erin is a student and housekeeper who works for Blake. Her feelings for the beastly man are innocent enough, until she walks in on him in the middle of a compromising act. Blake is a scarred ex-solider, who doesn't feel worthy of a woman, let alone the beautiful Erin. When he's offered a position as a professor at his Alma Mater, he doesn't expect to find the beauty sitting in his classroom. This is for those lovers of forbidden romance and fairy tales. For those who want to believe that the beast will find his beauty, but with a few complications along the way. If you enjoy the classic fairy tale, then you will love this modern take. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ms. Warren for giving me a retelling worth reading, even if I have to wait to find out what happens.

3 1/2 Caffeinated Stars - Rounded up to 4 When I saw Skye Warren post a call for bloggers to review her book I knew I had to jump at the chance. I really enjoyed some of her previous books, and I really love retellings of the Beauty and the Beast story. One of the things that I love about Skye Warren is that she isn’t scared to take a risk. Her books always have a bit of a taboo feel to them, and this one is no different. The power dynamics in this book have a forbidden edge to them & I enjoyed the Student/Teacher elements that were present. Though generally, I love Skye Warren’s books I felt like the writing was a bit off in this one. There was little to distinguish between the perspectives of the characters. It seemed that they blended in with each other which became confusing at times. Another thing that seemed off with this book was the character development. It appeared that Erin & Blake didn’t genuinely grow as characters during this book. This is what I consider the curse of the Novella. I tend to find that character development is harder to flesh out when it comes to a novella. Since there is a second in the series, I hope that we see more growth. Even though I didn’t feel that there was growth in the characters, I still loved them. Erin has a compelling background. I love that she doesn’t come from a wealthy family & I loved the dynamic that she has with the few side characters. Blake just made my heart hurt. The pain he has is heartbreaking and makes me want to just give him a hug. Both of them together was the highlight (as it should be with a romance). I loved that they (for the most part) were open and honest with each other. It’s rare to read a book where a character will openly admit to their insecurities, so this was refreshing. All in all, this book has some faults, but I still enjoyed it. It was fast-paced with some captivating characters. I hope to see some character growth in the next book

Erin cleans Blake’s house for him. She has a crush on him. He is a scarred, yet sexy older man. When she walks in on him in a compromising position they are both horrified yet intrigued. A sexy, dark romance. Blake is recovering from his time in the service. With visible and the not so visible scars he feels unlovable. Erin sees the strength of his character. The book is part one and ends at the perfect stopping point. Wonderfully written and beautifully dark.

A steamy and modern tale of The Beauty and the Beast. Blake is an ex-soldier trying to get his life back together after being injured in the war. Erin is the college student who cleans his house to pay for her expenses. They faced many obstacles in trying to be together. This older man/younger woman, professor/student story was fast paced. It was good reading and I really enjoyed it. The book does end in a cliffhanger. Review copy was received for a honest opinion.

This is a deep, dark, take on the classic story. Blake’s beast is shackled by scars, inside and out, and he is living, no existing, in pain, when Erin comes along. From the first scene, the attraction, the heat, between them is palpable. But it exists in the darkness that is his world. She is sunshine and light, and as much as the world has tried to keep her in the dark, she refuses to give in. Blake isn’t dark to her, he is everything she has wanted. But the world is against them, but they both still fight. Until, it is clear to Blake, to go into the light, they need to go apart All sorts of imagery and sexiness in this story. The feelings are raw, the darkness enticing, and the hopelessness overwhelming. The opposite is also true, because the love is warming, the light is glaring, and the courage inspiring. For both Blake and Erin, they swing to both ends of the pendulum, together, and apart, and you go with them for the ebb and the flow

Beauty and the Professor by Skye Warren is the first book in her Modern Fairy Tale Duet. A sexy, steamy modern re-telling of Beauty and the Beast. Erin is a grad student on scholarship and loans and working her way through the expenses by cleaning in her free time. Her favorite job, by far, is her twice a week visit to the reclusive Blake Morris. A wounded vet and one-time professor, he was badly burned in his last tour and has made himself a recluse as a result. But when Erin sees Blake she sees the whole man, not just a man with scars. Blake has no need of having his house cleaned twice a week but the company that Erin provides is addictive. So if he has to pay her to be there, so be it. But when Erin witnesses something he wishes she hadn't he is wiling to let her go, but despite everything, it just pulls her in and they begin their affair with no idea what troubles lay ahead. Well-written and well-paced and filled with steamy, sexy encounters the story held it's own amidst the various smoking hot scenes between Erin & Blake. Loved it - will definitely be finishing this duet with book two, Falling for the Beast as soon as possible. Enjoy!

Wow! I loved the spin of this modern fairy tale. I normally do not read re-telling of fairy tales, but it's Skye Warren and I couldn't resist. She did such an amazing job drawing me into Beauty and the Professor from page one. Erin and Blake's love story is not only forbidden, but it has just the right amount of hotness, sexiness, and suspense that keep those pages turning. The cliffhanger has me wanting more and hoping for a happily ever after. I absolutely loved it!! Happy Reading Everyone!!!
