Beauty of Debris
In Beauty of Debris, we are presented here and there with minute focal points where narratives converge, crisscross, seem to point to conclusions within the poems. Or maybe they don’t. Because it doesn’t really matter if a theme is to emerge from the complexity of this collection. With or without reassuring conclusions, we’re left with the feeling that our dreams do not grow old—ever! People and birds, spiders and clouds, sun and soil, cabins, patios, tiles and so much more... those are the ingredients in the fertile juice of this “Elizabethan” poetry. Like the love that is “never finished, all reversed, unfulfilled...”. Isn’t that great?(Maria do Carmo Brandão)
