Becoming Whole After Addiction: A Biblical Model for Christ-Centered 12-Step Recovery Counseling
If you have taken the time to read these pages, then something deep within you is searching for healing, freedom, and hope. Perhaps you are battling the chains of addiction yourself, or maybe you love someone who is. Whatever brought you here, please know this: there is hope, and there is a way forward.
The message of this book is simple but life-changing—true and lasting recovery is only possible through Jesus Christ. The twelve steps, powerful as they are, cannot save on their own. Rules and self-effort cannot heal the broken heart or restore the weary soul. Only Christ can make us whole. Only His Spirit can give the power to live free from sin, shame, and the grip of addiction.
Friend, today can be the day of new beginnings. You do not have to wait until you are at the end of yourself to call upon the Lord. He is ready now to forgive, to cleanse, and to fill you with His Spirit. If you will repent, surrender your life to Him, and walk in obedience to His Word, He will give you peace, purpose, and the power to live in freedom.
I urge you—do not delay. Turn to Jesus Christ. Lay every burden at His feet. Let Him take the broken pieces of your life and make you whole. Then, having found freedom, share it with others who are still bound, so that they too can experience the miracle of God's grace.
My prayer is that you will walk away from this book not just with information, but with transformation. May you come to know the joy of living a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered life, and may you discover the abundant life that only Jesus can give.

About the Author

Dr. Clayton R. Hall Jr., DMin. is a devoted Oneness Apostolic Pentecostal pastor, teacher, author, and counselor who has served in ministry since 1985. He was born in Sanford, Florida, and grew up in Pontotoc, Mississippi and Portland, Oregon, where he graduated from high school. He then attended Bible college at Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington, and later earned both his Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Theology/Christian Counseling, graduating summa cum laude, from Great Commission Bible College in Carl Junction, Missouri.
Dr. Hall ministered in the Seattle area for 20 years before moving with his family to Petal, Mississippi, in 2005, where he pastored faithfully until his retirement. Originally a Trinitarian, he came to the revelation of the Oneness of God through prayerful, Holy Spirit–guided study of Scripture and the history of the early church. His studies revealed that the doctrine of the Trinity was influenced by Greek philosophy and solidified under Emperor Constantine, a polytheist whose agenda was political unity rather than biblical truth.
Although retired from active pastoral ministry due to Parkinson’s disease, Dr. Hall continues to teach the Bible online, proclaiming the apostolic message of the risen Lord Jesus Christ — the one true God manifest in flesh. He and his wife have been married for over 38 years and are blessed with three grown children and four grandchildren. His life and ministry remain a testimony of God’s sustaining grace, the power of the Holy Ghost, and the transforming revelation of Jesus’ name.
