This is a clear, beautifully illustrated entry-level college text. No literate adult or near-adult should have difficulty following it. It is better than some others at presenting a balanced approach: many Bio 101 texts seem directed towards human form and function. The many pre-vet or animal science or wildlife biology types will appreciate the "coverage" of other animals. Since most college freshmen dissect a pig or cat or rat, it would be nice if their texts did not focus on the human. As a lab animal, humans are really only of interest to the human health professionals who will work on them! The teacher's package of power point slides, test banks, and web links is great.

I very much enjoy using this book for class and have decided to keep it rather than try to sell it back. It has a very nice setup and is extremely informative.
