About the Author

Jane Dode is passionate about helping individuals suffering from mental illness. Due to her personal experience of having a family member who was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, but died before he could be treated properly, she has made it her mission to never let this happen to others. Jane has worked in the mental health system for over 25 years. She has worked in many positions and settings in this field. Her experience includes that of Physicians Assistant (Psychiatrist in particular), Licensed Professional Counselor (Individual, Home-based, Acute Psychiatric Inpatient, Day Program, and Group Home Counselor). She is also currently a psychology instructor for a University renowned for its Psychology Department and programs.
The true stories chosen for her book series, True Stories of Life in a Psychiatric Hospital, are based on her personal experience working as the clinical director of a mental health hospital. She has also worked in many other positions at this hospital, as well as another psychiatric hospital, which supplements the views and perspectives of this author. These stories are based on true accounts and the actual individuals who experienced them.
